Who will commit next?

Of course, whenever one recruit commits, one of the questions is always, who is next? And for Michigan football, next up could very well be 2021 running back Tavierre Dunlap.

Dunlap is a three-star running back out of Del Valle, Texas and he’s been trending to the Wolverines with expert picks for about the last week. EJ Holland of Rivals has a Futurecast in for him and six experts at 247 sports are projecting him to U-M too.

Dunlap is ranked as the No. 371 recruit in 2021, according to the 247 composite rankings, while also coming in at No. 22 among running backs.

But the 6-foot, 195-pounder is underrated and in 247’s own rankings, he’s a four-star who ranks 11th among backs. Last season, he averaged nearly 10 yards a carry. He’s not Donovan Edwards, but he catches the ball better than people think and he’s a decisive runner.

On the current roster, I’d say he reminds me most of Hassan Haskins. He’s one-cut, explosive and decisive. At this point, a commitment could come at any time and while some eyes may roll at another “three-star” Dunlap is legit.
