O-Line

Starters: Ryan Hayes, Karsen Barnhart, Zach Carpenter, Chuck Filiaga, Andrew Stueber.

Backups: Trevor Keegan, Zak Zinter, Andrew Vastardis, Nolan Rumler, Trente Jones

The offensive line obviously took a big hit on Tuesday when Jalen Mayfield announced he was entering the 2021 NFL draft.

But it was to be expected and the good thing for Michigan football is that the Wolverines have a good amount of depth along the offensive front.

Ryan Hayes, like Mayfield, is someone who will eventually be playing on Sundays in the NFL. So that’s a good starting point and then, Andrew Stueber can take his old job back at right tackle, as long as he can hold off some of the younger guys like Trente Jones and Trevor Keegan.

Karsen Barnhart is another that could benefit from Mayfield’s departure. He can step in at guard and that would allow Stueber to play on the outside.

Regardless, the Wolverines have plenty of options and with Ed Warinner getting them ready, the offensive line should be in good shape come spring.
