Top talent at all the right places

On both sides of the ball, this Michigan football team is really talented.

Offensively, yes, the quarterbacks have to prove they are up to the task, but the offensive line boasts a potential future first-rounder in Jalen Mayfield, as well as other promising up-and-comers such as Zach Carpenter and Ryan Hayes. Not to mention a bunch of talented recruits waiting in the wings.

In the backfield, Zach Charbonnet should be better than last year, as long as he stays healthy, and with Hassan Haskins, Chris Evans and Blake Corum, U-M is loaded.

The running game can ease the burden on the QBs, but Nico Collins, Ronnie Bell and others will also help make their jobs easier.

In my eyes, Michigan has three guys on offense: Mayfield, Charbonnet and Collins who could easily be first or second-round picks (when all draft eligible).

Then, you look at the defense and according to Phil Steele, Michigan has the best defensive end duo in the Big Ten with Aidan Hutchinson and Kwity Paye.

"“I actually list Kwity Paye and Aidan Hutchinson both on my first team Big Ten,” Steele told Rivals this week. “So best set of defensive ends in the Big Ten, I’m going to say, yes, Michigan.”"

Cameron McGrone is a stud and will be All-Big Ten in my opinion, plus the secondary is loaded with Daxton Hill, Brad Hawkins, Ambry Thomas, Vincent Gray, and promising freshman Andre Seldon, not to mention DJ Turner.

I’m not saying Michigan is on par with Ohio State, but the Wolverines are solid at all the right places and more talented than any Big Ten team not named OSU.
