3-star offensive tackle Tristan Bounds (No. 680, 247 sports composite)

Everyone knows that you can’t coach size and that had to be on the mind of offensive line coach Ed Warinner when Michigan landed Tristan Bounds, a three-star offensive tackle who stands nearly 6-foot-8 and is 285 pounds.

While Michigan has some other four-star recruits committed on the offensive line, maybe the most intriguing prospect is Bounds. Not only does he have the size to be a left tackle, he has the footwork too.

Like some others on this list, he plays in the Northeast and it’s going to be take some time for him to transition to the Big Ten. But most of the freshman last year on the offensive line redshirted, so that doesn’t seem too surprising.

Warinner did great work with guys like Jon Runyan Jr., and Cesar Ruiz. Bounds is a lot like Runyan or maybe even Ryan Hayes is a better comparison. He’s a kid that has all the tools to be an elite left tackle, he just needs to put it all together.

And in a few years, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him leave Michigan and get drafted. 6-foot-8 men who can block athletic pass rusher don’t exactly grow on trees.
