Two priority targets for Michigan gave updates on when they could be announcing their college decisions.

With some Michigan football recruits, the time to make a decision is coming closer and on Thursday, a pair of key targets in 2021 talked about their timelines.

One of those is three-star safety Daymon David. David is one of the defensive backs that Michigan football is pushing hardest for and at safety, he’s probably the top guy on the board at this point.

David isn’t highly rated according to 247 sports or Rivals right now. Rivals actually rates him as just a two-star prospect. However, his recruitment has exploded with offers in the last few months and now Michigan, Oklahoma and Miami are among the schools vying for him.

According to Sam Webb of the Michigan Insider ($), Miami actually offered David following some encouragement from Ed Reed. The 6-foot-1, 172-pounder is the definition of a hard hitter and in his interview with Webb, David hinted he wanted to make a decision fairly soon.

“I really don’t have a timeline on when I want to make my decision,” David said. “I know I’m going to hit that time and make a decision soon. Probably in the next month or two.”

David also told Webb that if even if he does commit, if he’s allowed to take visits in the fall at some point, he would like to visit Michigan “100 percent.”

Latest on Drew Kendall

Obviously, there have started to be quite a few Drew Kendall updates recently, but it feels like one way or another, this recruitment will be coming to a close soon.

Kendall spoke with Michigan Thursday, including head coach Jim Harbaugh and according to EJ Holland of Rivals ($), the conversation went very well. Kendall is hoping to get into the Ross Business School at Michigan and if he does that should help the Wolverines chances.

Here’s part of what Holland wrote in his latest update:

"“Again, Michigan is full court pressing Kendall despite the upcoming Rocco Spindler decision. Ideally, Michigan would land Kendall this month and close with Spindler on Aug. 8. In that case, Spindler’s decision would have no bearing on Kendall, and Kendall’s decision wouldn’t impact Spindler, who isn’t concerned about interior OL numbers.”"

With Kendall, if he decides before the end of July, which is something he talked about, my bet is that Michigan will end up being the pick.

Yet, if he waits and doesn’t decide until after Rocco Spindler does, my guess is that the two four-star offensive guards won’t end up at the same school.
