Michigan Basketball: Way-too-early 2021 depth chart prediction
Starter: Terrance Williams
Backups: Jace Howard, Isaiah Barnes
Think of Terrance Williams as a Brandon Johns Jr type player, only two inches shorter. That’s the kind of game to expect from the incoming freshman. In high school, Williams could overcome the height advantage of others with brutality, in college, however, Terrance might have to move to the three as a rebounding wing, and if he can hone in on his accuracy from three-point-land, he can be the starter here.
Terrance comes in the top 100 for his class both internally and per the composite, and he could surprise some people at the next level should he find his groove on the team.
Speaking of surprises, Juwan’s son Jace Howard is going to be a contender for minutes from day one. He might not get much playing time early on, and he probably won’t start until his junior or senior year, but he’s a supremely talented prospect, and he’s fundamentally sound, as are most coach’s kids.
Isaiah Barnes could sneak up and earn the starting role. It’s been said by several people that Isaiah is massively underrated, and he could, if high school basketball is allowed to be played, make significant jumps during his final season at his new school, the legendary Simeon Academy.
