Charbonnet

Zach Charbonnet, like Hill, came to Michigan football with big expectations and he did a pretty solid job of meeting them last year as a freshman, racking up 726 yards on 149 attempts for an average of 4.9 yards per rush. He also added 11 touchdowns.

However, the top-50 recruit clearly wasn’t the same player all year that he was in the Citrus Bowl against Alabama. Remember, Charbonnet dealt with some injuries early in the year and after running the ball 33 times against Army, he saw more double-digit carries only five more times.

One of those came against the Crimson Tide and in that game, we saw what Charbonnet could be this season, as he ran all over Alabama, gaining 84 yards on 13 attempts, an average of 6.5 yards.

With as much talent as Michigan has on the offensive line, even though it loses four starters, Charbonnet should have plenty of room to run this season and with a pair of healthy knees, he should be a devastating force on the ground.

Michigan has needed a true bell-cow since Mike Hart left and Charbonnet needs to become that guy in 2020.
