Michigan Football: Pros and cons for Joe Milton, Dylan McCaffrey
By Nick Popio
Dylan McCaffrey
McCaffrey on the other hand is the more proven commodity. With an accurate arm to go along with his running traits, he’d be the prototype for the Gattis scheme.
On direct running snaps McCaffrey can be a nuisance for any defender. Even if Milton bypasses him as the go to guy, than McCaffrey is to superior of an athlete to be just left on the bench.
His 2018 performance at Notre Dame in relief of Patterson was sound given the circumstances. He appeared in command of the offense and that is unheard of for about any freshman quarterback.
Then in 2019 at Wisconsin he suffered a violent hit that forced him out of sorts for roughly a month. Those are the type of injuries that can make an impression on you and make you wonder when it can happen again. After his absence, he bounced back with minimal snaps for the rest of the pocket.

Given his dynamic genes and pedigree, McCaffrey is ripe to put it all together and lead the 2020 Michigan football team.
He can be a catalyst in parts of the rushing attack, while Milton can be the passing threat in certain situations. That may be the best way to use both of their skill sets and win ball games.
