Juwan Howard isn’t wasting time since college coaches were allowed to contact 2022 recruits. Michigan basketball is mentioned almost every few minutes on social media.

For 2022 recruits, the rule is no calling them until June 15th at midnight. Well, that time has come and gone, and the Michigan basketball staff is on top of things. Here’s a look at the 2022 prospects who have been contacted by the Wolverines.

Ty Rodgers

Grand Blanc Community High School, Grand Blanc, MI

Ty Rodgers is one of those in-state kids that others are sleeping on. Per 247 sports, Rodgers is 70th overall for his class, the 20th best SF, and second in-state. He’s got all the talent in the world, and while there’s a lot of buzz about Ty and Michigan State, Michigan might have the leg up in his recruiting.

“I’m a Michigan guy. Michigan was always my school. I love both football and basketball. Oh yeah, definitely a Fab Five fan. That is actually when all of us graduated together, so hung out sometimes with them,” Ty’s dad said. “We all graduated high school in 91 and that is when Jalen Rose was taking over the state of Michigan in high school. I went to Arthur Hill. Me and Juwan both came out in 91 and he’s played 20 years in the pros and now he’s coaching.”

Rivals ranks Ty 73rd nationally with four stars, and ESPN has him at 42nd with four stars as well.

Javaughn Hannah

Mt. Clemmons High School, Mount Clemens, MI

Javaughn Hannah didn’t stumble upon his basketball skills; he was groomed to become a star from the start. His dad, Thomas Hannah, once played for the same school as his son, and he watched as his teammate set the Mount Clemens High School scoring record.

Decades later, his son broke it with a 60-point performance, and yet the 6-foot-3 shooting guard is unranked. Not for long, however.

Hannah has already heard from several prominent basketball schools since midnight.

We turn to Endless Motor Sports for the evaluation:

"While the pull-up game is potent, Javaughn is a versatile scorer that gets to the paint with dribble penetration at a very high level. Once there, the super-soph displays good body control and consistently finishes through contact. He also bullies defenders with his back to the basket on the block and the elbow area with a beautiful turnaround jumper."

Derrian Ford

Magnolia High School, Magnolia, AR

There aren’t many like him. To come from a town of just over 10,000, who claims to fame is the World’s Largest Charcoal Grill and the World Championship Steak Cookoff, and become a basketball star isn’t the typical path most college basketball players take.

That’s where the Derrian Ford‘s story begins: In Magnolia, Arkansas.

From small-town living to big-time offers, and phone calls with Juwan Howard.

While 247 sports and ESPN don’t carry rankings for Derrian, Rivals has him at 38th nationally with four-stars.

Jaden Bradley

IMG Academy, Rochester, NY

You don’t have to venture far into college basketball recruiting to see Jaden Bradley‘s name. He’s No. 9 nationally, and Juwan Howard caught up with him to gauge his interest in Michigan basketball.

Jaden has also heard from the who’s who of college basketball, which is understandable considering how talented the youngster is.

Soon, Jaden will explode on the scene for IMG Academy, a nationally recognized high school. Last year, Bradley competed for Concord High School in Concord, NC, where he celebrated the Class 4A state championship.
