20+ wins

This one seems like a no-brainer, but it’s not. After taking down Goliath (Gonzaga) Michigan couldn’t find its footing until that five-game win-streak that was kicked off by the W over Michigan State in Crisler.

And then the Wolverines went 1-3 to close it out.

At 19 wins with the conference tournament underway, the Wolverines were going to reach the mark. Their opponent that day was Rutgers who they had already dismantled twice. That day just happened to be the day they canceled the tournament not allowing Juwan to reach the mark during his first go around.

Eventually, if the season does ever happen, U-M will face another tough schedule and who will be on the roster is still anyone’s guess, as noted previously.

That mixed in with the loss of veterans Zavier Simpson (Xavier?) and Jon Teske, it will be tough to match the success from 2019-20.

Still, after a full offseason, it’s not an unattainable expectation. Hunter Dickinson is truly one of the best for his class and will have an immediate impact as will the other incoming freshman Zeb Jackson, Terrance Williams, and Jace Howard.

That’s not mentioning the addition of grad transfer Mike Smith who averaged 22.8 points, 4.5 assists, and 4.1 rebounds during his final campaign at Columbia.
