Starting power forward: Isaiah Livers

It’s not a sure thing that Livers will come back to Michigan basketball, however, with all the uncertainty surrounding the NBA draft, it has to help the Wolverines at least a little.

Under the new NBA proposal, the league would run until Oct. 12 and the NBA draft would be sometime after that. The withdrawal date would obviously need to be much earlier, but that’s still cutting it close for Livers and others like him.

And since Livers is really on the fence of even being drafted, it just seems like he would taking a huge risk not coming back to the Wolverines.

Coach Howard has talked about trying to help Isaiah be evaluated, but either way, another season, in which he played like Big Ten Player of the Year, or something of the sort, would seem to give his draft stock a boost. Plus, the Wolverines would be much better as team.

Yet, if Livers does decide to pursue his NBA dream, Brandon Johns would step into the starting power forward job and would just do fine. He just isn’t Livers, at least not yet.
