5. player. 485. . . . Trey Burke

If Trey Burke was a little taller, he could have made any top-10 list at nearly any position. He’s incredibly athletic and the definition of clutch. Growing up in the heart of Buckeye country, Burke took the road less traveled and picked Ann Arbor as his next destination.

Right out of the gate, Burke showed why the recruiting sites were wrong about him being the 93rd best player in his class as he averaged 14.8 points in his first season, adding 4.6 assists and 3.5 rebounds.

Taking a massive leap in his sophomore year, Burke averaged 18.6 points and 6.7 assists. That year, Burke was surrounded by six future NBA players, including Tim Hardaway, Nik Stauskas, Glenn Robinson, Mitch McGary, and Caris LeVert. With all of that talent, the Wolverines were able to break through the 30-win mark and finished 31-8 and runners up in the National Championship to the (cheaters) Louisville Cardinals – who were forced to vacate the championship due to NCAA rules violations, and although the Wolverines were runners up, they weren’t given the win despite being as clean as Trey’s block.

Burke’s name is featured in the record book 172 times, which is astonishing considering the guy only played two years in the Wolverine uniform.

After college, Trey bounced around the NBA and is currently a member of the Philadelphia 76ers.

Had Burke stayed another year or two, he would have made his way much closer to No. 1 on this list.
