Michigan basketball has been fortunate to have tremendous PG play, especially during the John Beilein era. Here are the best of all time.

Who are the top 10 Michigan basketball point guards of all-time?

There are a million different answers. With a quick lesson on the history of Michigan basketball, 10 different people from all over the world could be asked that same question, and they would all give different answers.

That’s because there is no single metric or set of parameters that can be agreed upon to rank a defined group of individuals in a sport. Is it National Championships, points-per-game, or total assists? Is it all of those categories and more?

It’s a debate that will go on forever in the world of sports. Statistics majors will stick to their guns and tell you the points and assists (measurables) are crucial for the ranking process. A more old school basketball enthusiast might say it’s about the intangibles, the things you can’t typically quantify in a stat sheet.

With this ranking, the measurables and metrics are going to be a bit different and not precisely defined. This list will be based on total stats accrued, adding in a dash of per-game stats, a splash of overall success at Michigan, and a healthy helping of the impact that can’t be nailed down on a spreadsheet.
