Michigan Football: Game-by-game predictions for Wolverines in 2020
Leading up to The Game
If you are keeping track at this point, through seven games, Michigan is 6-1 and 3-1 in the Big Ten conference.
Michigan vs Purdue (W)
If this was a road game, I’d be seriously worried. How many times have we seen Purdue get crazy and upset someone on a Saturday night in West Lafayette? It happened a couple of years ago to Ohio State, thanks to the amazing Rondale Moore and he’s the biggest reason to be fearful of the Boilermakers this season. Michigan may not be able to hold him in check, but the Purdue defense won’t be able to stop Michigan either, especially on the ground in a grind-it-out kind of win.
Michigan vs Maryland (W)
Following a bye week, Michigan football will host Maryland. The Terps are headed in the right direction and they have been recruiting really well this cycle. However, the talent isn’t there yet, at least not to beat the Wolverines at the Big House.
Michigan at Rutgers (W)
With Greg Schiano back as the head coach of the Scarlet Knights, Rutgers should actually become a legit Big Ten program, the kind the league hoped it was getting when Rutgers was originally added. Schiano has a top-20 class right now in recruiting, as he is working really hard on keeping the talent from New Jersey in New Jersey. However, those efforts won’t help in the 2020 season as a superior Michigan team wins by three scores in a game that’s competitive.
Michigan vs Indiana (W)
Indiana is actually one of the more underrated teams on the schedule. The Hoosiers won eight games a year ago and are ranked 26th in the ESPN FPI to start the season. Tom Allen’s team averaged 32 points per game last season and hasn’t backed down from Michigan the past few years. Yet, on Senior Day, the Wolverines will win again, sending them to Columbus with a 10-1 record and another clash for the Big Ten East title.
