Michigan Football: Predicting Wolverines starters in 2020
All signs point to Michigan football playing games this fall and with that in mind, here’s a look at our latest prediction of the Wolverines’ depth chart.
While it’s impossible to know what the college football season might look like, it appears more and more likely that Michigan football and other programs across the country will be playing, at least sometime this fall.
Of course, it’s still too early to feel too strongly about anything. Stuff changes quickly, but if teams are willing to play with limited fans or no fans, as Jim Harbaugh said Michigan football would be willing to do, then there is at least good reason to hope for a 2020 season, in some fashion.
For the Wolverines specifically, there are reasons for optimism heading into 2020. Michigan lost plenty of talent from last year’s 9-4 team. 10 players ended up getting selected in the 2020 NFL draft, including four former starters on the offensive line.
Starting quarterback Shea Patterson also graduated and signed with the Kansas City Chiefs as a rookie free agent. Lavert Hill, a three-year starter at corner was another key loss, along with tight end Sean McKeon.
The biggest loss might be pass rusher Josh Uche. He was an elite edge rusher and the Wolverines will need to replace his ability to disrupt off the edge. There are a lot of pieces that need to be replaced but the good news is Michigan football is loaded with talent.
Maybe not Ohio State-level talent, but talented enough to be a top-10 caliber team, at the very least and looking ahead, here’s a prediction for the Wolverines’ 2020 starters.
