QB and O-line replacements will be just fine

I get the argument that Dylan McCaffrey wasn’t good enough to start over Shea Patterson, but he’s a solid quarterback and he will be in his second year in this system. The same goes for Joe Milton and whoever ends up winning the job will play well.

It’s really hard to choose between the two and it’s also hard to say either player will be an upgrade over Patterson, yet if the turnovers and overthrows can be avoided, it would be a huge step in the right direction. McCaffrey is also a dangerous runner, which could add an exciting element to the offense, even if he’s not the starter.

The offensive line also has some holes, but Michigan football does get Jalen Mayfield back at right tackle, as well as Ryan Hayes back on the left side, who got some experience starting last season when Jon Runyan Jr. was hurt.

Andrew Stueber should bump inside to guard and he was all set to start at right tackle before a season-ending injury. Pair those guys with Chuck Filigala and redshirt freshman Zach Carpenter, who was highly impressive last year on the scout team and U-M should be just fine.
