U-M and the NCAA tournament

No. 1 Big Ten class coming off a 19 win season (including over No. 2 Gonzaga, No. 9 MSU, No. 21 Illinois, and narrowly missing the W in overtime against No. 13 Oregon) after losing three starters.

The puzzle pieces are shuffled and the picture is becoming clear. U-M has the potential to win any game, any day, and with the direct injection of a talented freshman class, the Wolverines are destined for a deep run in the 2021 NCAA tournament.

There could be a few hiccups and a few miraculous, Jordan Poole over Houston- type, victories. There could also be the domination as seen in the Bahamas where UM trounced the competition.

Memories will surely be made and hearts broken. It happens every year. The Loyola Chicago’s of the world will always make an appearance.

But no one will sneak up on Michigan basketball when the tournament comes around next. U-M will clash with the Titans and like Perseus, it will come out on top, all the way to the final four.

Michigan, no lower than a six seed, will defend their way past the top tier athletes and produce points like Georgia produces peaches.

Juwan will have his first, second, third, and fourth (and potentially more) NCAA tournament victory in his first appearance leading his Alma Mater.
