Michigan football won’t lose at the Big House in 2020

Last season, the Wolverines dropped just one game at the Big House and that was to Ohio State. Other than the Buckeyes and a couple of upsets at the hands of Michigan State, Michigan has been stellar at home under Jim Harbaugh, posting a 31-5 record.

And while Harbaugh hasn’t been stellar against ranked opponents, especially on the road, Harbaugh and the Wolverines haven’t lost at home to a ranked opponent other than Ohio State since 2015 and their total record against ranked non-OSU opponents is 7-1.

The reason for that speel is that Michigan will host both Penn State and Wisconsin early in the 2020 season and even though both teams look really good, Michigan will win those games. U-M has beaten both Penn State and Wisconsin the last two times in Ann Arbor.

The Wolverines may not be on the same level as Ohio State, but talent-wise, they are superior to Wisconsin and at least even, if not more talented than Penn State. Michigan did have the top recruiting class in the Big Ten in 2019 and No. 2 in 2020.

Michigan whipped up on Penn State and Wisconsin with Shea Patterson at QB, and even if things are still getting worked out by McCaffrey and Milton at that point, the running game and the defense will be enough for U-M to grind out wins.

The other tough games at home could be against Purdue and Maryland, but when it’s all said and done, Michigan will be perfect at home.
