Nico

Nico Collins tops the list of 2021 draft prospects for the Wolverines. The 6-foot-4 receiver from Alabama decided to return to Michigan football for his senior season to solidify his position as one of the best receivers in the Big Ten.

Nico has gotten better every year as his role has increased. He caught three passes as a freshman, 38 sophomore year, and 37 as a junior. The difference from year two to year three was the amount of yards. He had similar catch totals but his yards increased from 632 to 729.

The coming-out party for Nico was the Ohio State game in 2018. He proved that he could win battles against the top competition the conference had to offer. He had four catches for 91 yards and 2 TDs.

Collins has great size and a big body that he uses to his advantage. He has the ability to high point balls and wins 50/50 battles with DB’s. The touchdown that he scored against Indiana last season showed that he has unique speed for his size.

Nico is also a redzone threat. He scored seven touchdowns as a junior and those numbers should increase as he sees more targets. When Michigan gets into striking distance don’t be surprised if a lot of balls go to Nico.
