Michigan Football: The 12 Wolverine draft candidates for 2021
Day 3: Rounds 4-7
Kwity Paye
Kwity Paye is going to be a major factor in the Wolverines as a senior under Don Brown and he will get near 80 tackles during his final campaign. He and Aidan Hutchinson will dominate the rush and obliterate opposing quarterbacks.
By the time Bowl season rolls around, Paye should have around 10 sacks vaulting him into the national spotlight as a Chase Young type edge defender, but he will still fall to the third day as a quality pickup and eventual starter.
Andrew Stueber
Offensive line coach Ed Warriner deserves a medal, a raise, and a promotion. This offseason, four linemen were drafted, a record for the Wolverines. No other college team neared that total and Michigan has never come close to that achievement in previous years (2014 was the last time multiple trench warriors were selected).
Ed’s ability to coach his lineman to reach their full potential is precisely the reason why Andrew Stueber will go from three-star prospect to professional football player.
Brad Hawkins
It’s very possible that Brad Hawkins has a breakout season and sneaks his way into day one or two, but it’s not likely. He will have the opportunity, however.
Through three seasons, Brad has proved to be extremely reliable in the secondary and will do so again in 2020. Reliable without the it factor.
Hawkins doesn’t have or hasn’t shown the wild one-handed interceptions or unique coverage ability, if fact, he doesn’t have an interception yet and has only two total pass deflections. This season will decide his fate.
Chris Evans
With the group of guys the Wolverines have in the running back room, it’s going to be nearly impossible to get any carries. Returning are co-starters Zach Charbonnet and Hassan Haskins, and four-star Blake Corum is an incoming freshman.
If Evans is able to reach the 700-yard mark and have an unmatched performance at the combine, he might find himself on the other end of a phone call with a GM.
