Peoples-Jones messed up

The most shocking part of the weekend for Michigan football was watching former five-star wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones fall all the way to the sixth round of the draft.

Certainly, Peoples-Jones isn’t a super clean prospect. He had three semi-productive years with the Wolverines. He battled some injuries and he never really showed the explosive ability that made him the top recruit at his position in 2017.

Over the past two years, Peoples-Jones did catch 14 touchdowns. However, he never really played with that 4.4 speed he showed at the combine. He struggled to separate at times and also had drop issues. Plus, there have been rumors that he bad-mouthed ($) head coach Jim Harbaugh in the draft process or that the Wolverines said he wasn’t ready.

Who knows. It seems, at the very least, that there were some issues in the relationship between Harbaugh and Peoples-Jones. But for his sake, another year at Michigan, would have been a good thing.

Yet, Peoples-Jones landed in a good spot and who knows, maybe his loss will be the Browns gain.
