Ed Warriner needs a new contract

When Michigan football hired Ed Warriner to coach the offensive line, it wasn’t a move that made a ton of waves. However, it’s been one of Jim Harbaugh’s best hires and Saturday was just an incredible day for Warriner as he had four players drafted.

And when it comes to the offensive line, the Wolverines did get an early selection as Cesar Ruiz went in the first round Thursday to the New Orleans Saints, becoming the first Michigan offensive lineman to go in the first round since Taylor Lewan.

Now, it’s stating to feel like this might become a trend for the Wolverines. Jalen Mayfield, who will be a redshirt sophomore next season is already getting draft buzz and in the 247 sports mock draft, he actually went in the first round, 10th overall.

We’ll have to see if that materializes, but Warriner has been dynamic on the recruiting trail and with his ability to develop the players he recruits, Harbaugh needs to give Warriner a new contract, so this run can continue for years to come.
