Ruiz brings position mobility to New Orleans

Cesar Ruiz made a name for himself as a center in college. That may not be where he lines up with the Saints. He also has the ability to play guard which he did as a freshman at Michigan.

New Orleans used a second-round pick on center Eric McCoy last season. He started all 16 games at center for them as a rookie.

The question is, do the Saints move McCoy or Ruiz to the guard position.

If they choose to move Ruiz, it won’t something that he hasn’t done before. He started five games at guard as a freshman because he was ready to make an impact.

The Saints didn’t spend a first round pick on the former Wolverine to sit on the bench. Look for Ruiz to be making an impact at whatever position he lines up at in the fall.
