Pass rushing phenom

Analysts have speculated that Josh Uche never fully reached his full potential under the tutelage of Michigan’s defensive coordinator Don Brown. It’s true, his snaps were limited, but it seemed that Josh never really found his position in the Wolverines defense.

Was he a linebacker or a defensive end?

At the time, Michigan football didn’t need an end, and as a junior, he was competing with many others for a potential spot. Despite the challenges, Josh accounted for 15 tackles and seven sacks.

A year later, Uche was primed to become a starter on the defense, but as a tweener without elite size, Don couldn’t figure out where to put him. Still, he found a way to lead the team in sacks as the most efficient pass rusher.

At the next level, once Uche fills out his frame and finds his way to the line as a defensive end, he will become a proficient pass rusher that will become a nightmare for opposing quarterbacks. Josh has the potential to become a Pro Bowler and a double-digit sack artist under the right conditions.

As a member of the Patriots, Josh will have the opportunity to learn from the best and contribute immediately on special teams while he earns his playing time opposite former teammate Chase Winovich.
