Michigan Football: Looking back at 5 Wolverines selected in 2019 NFL Draft
There were plenty of candidates from the 2019 Michigan football team for the 2019 NFL draft, but only five were selected. Here are those five broken down by the round they were taken.
The 2018 college football season was a special one, mainly because there are no sports at the moment. Really, any season from any sport is more special than what we have today. Nevertheless, nearly two years ago, Michigan football was able to reach 10 wins (let’s forget about that conference game) and earned an invite to the coveted Peach Bowl (let’s also forget about the result of that vicious beating).
Overall, the season was a success, but the fallout was great.
The Wolverines lost five Michigan men: Two first-rounders, two third-rounders, and one in the fifth round.
It wasn’t the massive offloading witnessed in the record-setting 2017 draft when 11 U-M stars walked the stage, but not having two first-round talents return to the team was devastating, especially when they both play solely on one side of the line.
The 2020 draft has the potential to match that of the 2017 draft. Considering there are 13 draft-eligible Wolverines with 11 invited to the combine, it’s entirely plausible, albeit unlikely. Some Mock drafts have as many as eight Michigan men virtually walking the stage.
But we’re not here to opine as to who and how many will get drafted, we’re here to review the 2019 draft; who got drafted when and by who. Here it goes:
