Michigan Basketball: Previewing the starting 5 for Wolverines
Power Forward
This is another position that is up in the air. Like Wagner, Isaiah Livers has the option of jumping to the NBA, and, in fact, he’s exploring those waters.
“I have to hear a guaranteed contract or I’m not really going anywhere,” Livers said following the announcement. “I’m just gonna come back and get my education.”
Isaiah experienced a few injuries and missed quite a few games, and he wasn’t as accurate from deep after he came back from his major groin injury. Livers was hitting 50 percent from beyond the arc, and then you fast forward to his final outing, and he had a goose egg on five attempts. And, for the last three months of the 2019-20 season, Livers was only able to hit three shots from deep in a single game once.
Livers has enough talent to get a look, but did he have enough time on tape this year for an NBA team to take a chance?
Behind Livers, or as the starter, is Brandon Johns Jr. Stolen from Michigan State’s backyard, Brandon was a highly touted recruit that couldn’t quite find a rhythm in his first season, and then dominated a few games last year, and then disappeared for streaks. Brandon is a wild card that can put up 20 points and 10 rebounds, or two points and one rebound.
The third option here is Terrance Williams if Juwan can afford to lose a few inches with a shorter lineup.
