Due to the cancellation of all sports, fans across the world have been itching for memorable content that will fill souls up with moments of joy, heartbreak, and shock. Michigan football fans are no different.
And as Michigan football fans may know, Tom Brady recently signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, after saying his goodbyes to the New England Patriots, a place he was so grateful to call home for two decades.
Brady’s legacy will never be ruined because of a move he made in the last years of his career because of the greatness he presented in the previous 20 years. He has proven year after year, from day one, whatever it takes, he would one day be the best. In honor of the flashbacks being televised on networks like ESPN and NFL network, let’s look back on where it all began for Tom Brady, in Ann Arbor, with Michigan football.
In Brady’s senior year at Junipero Serra High School in Gardena, California, he was able to land an offer from the University of Michigan. When the 6-foot-4 freshman arrived in Ann Arbor, there were six other guys on the depth chart.
Brady, listed as the seventh quarterback, had the confidence that he was better than all six of them. Heading into his sophomore year, Brady was neck and neck with senior quarterback Brian Griese as to who would get the role under center.
Lloyd Carr, the head coach at Michigan at the time, when in doubt, would almost always favor the upperclassmen, and in this instance, he did.
Having doubts in his mind during his sophomore year, Brady seriously considered transferring back home to the University of Cal, a team he knew for sure he would have a starting role. In a meeting with Coach Carr, Brady concluded that he would be staying in Ann Arbor. The California kid had a goal in mind, and he was not going to be denied.
Here’s a look at his best moments, starting with a heroic showing in a loss at Michigan State.
