. David Terrell. 7. player. 811. .

Tom Brady needed a target. He needed reliable receivers to get open for him to throw for almost 2,500 yards in 1998. Tai Streets was that guy until he left.

Enter David Terrell.

As a high school and college All-American (2000 College Football News and CNN/Sports Illustrated All-America first-team), David Terrell was born to be one of the best in the game, but he struggled once he hit the NFL. In college, however, David lived up to the hype.

At UM, Terrell hit the highly coveted 2,000 career receiving yards, and he caught 23 touchdowns (14 in his final campaign in Ann Arbor). David also became the first Michigan receiver to have multiple thousand-yard seasons (1,130 yards in 2000 and 1,038 in 1999).

Hailing from Richmond, VA, Terrell was one of the best athletes in high school and eventually chose the Wolverines over other suiters, and he dominated the game, ultimately realizing his dream of entering the NFL.

David was drafted eighth overall by the Chicago Bears in the 2001 NFL draft, but he never flourished like he did in college, and he left his professional football career behind him in 2007. He recorded 1,602 yards and caught nine touchdowns as a pro.

To this day, Terrell holds many records at Michigan. 8th in career receptions, ninth for single-season receptions, 5th for career yards, and 5th for career touchdowns, among other accomplishments as a Michigan man.
