Q: After sitting out this past year as a transfer and running with the scout team, what is the status of BK’s NCAA eligibility for next season?

“As of now the NCAA guidelines say he is eligible to suit up at the mid-year break.”

Q: NCAA transfer rules can be complex and there doesn’t seem to be uniformity in who does and who doesn’t obtain immediate eligibility. How was the process for your family and how do you feel about the NCAA transfer rules?

“I think that making a college decision right out of high school can be tough on anyone there are so many factors that come in to play with a student-athletes decision and for whatever reason if they are not happy they should be able to transfer at least once without having to sit. Brandon was planning on sitting last season wherever he went so up until now it didn’t really play a factor in his transfer. Because of the timing of the coaching change and admissions he had to sit anyway.”

Q: Coach, tell me about BK’s game – what are his strengths, what does he need to work on, and how do you see him fitting in on the Wolverine squad next year with the top recruiting class that is coming in?

“Brandon makes the right play pretty much all the time, he is a coach on the floor who can score it from 3, get in to the lane when he needs to but loves to make a play to set up his teammates for a bucket. If you surround Brandon with 4 guys that like to score you will have 4 happy guys on offense.

He needs to improve on being more consistent shooting the ball from 3 and like all young players playing better D, Also being more explosive (which to me is overrated) because I just watched Cassius dominate the big ten without being “explosive” he was just smarter then most was crafty with the ball and could just flat out play. I am not by any stretch comparing BK to Cassius but I have heard for years how Brandon wasn’t explosive enough and 30 points, 7 assist later against the explosive guys, he just found a way to get it done.

I have no clue about the rotation and how BK will fit in, I know that each day he gets to practice get in better shape and show Coach Howard what he can do. Its going to be tough not to give him some minutes. Brandon is a coaches dream and after watching one year of Howards system he definitely fits but like Brandon said regardless what happens on the floor he will be a part of the Michigan family and get a Michigan Degree who can complain about that??”
