Castleton

Colin Castleton is an obvious candidate to transfer just because it’s hard to see him logging a lot of minutes for Michigan in 2020-21. There was a time when Castleton felt like a guy on the rise but he has only flashed potential.

He had nice stretch as a freshman and started strong as a sophomore, scoring 14 points against Houston Baptist, as well as 10 against Iowa State. In those two games, he was 11-of-13 from the field and it seemed like Howard had made a real impact on him.

But after that, he only saw double-digit minutes three times all season and with Brandon Johns and Davis slated to return, along with the potential additions of Isaiah Todd and Hunter Dickinson, two highly-touted freshmen in the frontcourt, minutes could be hard to come by.

That being said, if Castleton stuck around, he could be a valuable piece off the bench. He can defend and rebound, and as he has shown, he can score. Castleton doesn’t lack for talent and in another program, he could start.

But if he sticks with Michigan basketball, as talented as he is, it’s going to be hard for him to crack the rotation unless he takes a big step forward from his first two seasons.
