It stinks that March Madness isn’t going forward this year because of COVID-19. But as Michigan basketball fans, here’s how to keep yourself entertained.
There was certainly an empty feeling for Michigan basketball and other college hoop fanbases, who watched selection Sunday come and go without picking a field for March Madness.
That’s because, as we all know, the NCAA tournament won’t go forward this year. That decision was handed down Thursday, shortly after the Big Ten tournament was canceled. It has been a crazy whirlwind.
Just more than a week ago, college basketball was a full go. Now, the season is over and for the first time, really since it started, we will be without the NCAA tournament.
Of course, the safety of players, coaches, fans and everyone else is more important. It was the right decision, even though some wish that the NCAA would have postponed the tournament instead of calling it off.
But with the CDC calling off public events of more than 50 people Sunday night, even the NBA is starting to realize that June could be the earliest organized sports return and that may be without fans.
The truth is that no one really knows what’s going to happen. All we know is that right now, most of us are going to be bunkered down at home, with no sports to watch, during the time of year when we generally watch sports the most.
