Michigan could have gone on another run

Obviously, in March Madness there is no guarantee of moving on and advancing, but in the grand scheme of things, Michigan basketball seemed ready to make a run in the NCAA tournament.

The losses to Wisconsin and Ohio State were discouraging, but the Wolverines weren’t going to keep shooting the ball poorly forever and when guys like Isaiah Livers and Brandon Johns and even Teske get hot, Michigan is a really hard team to beat.

Yes, the Wolverines went just 10-10 in the Big Ten conference, but they played the toughest schedule in the country according to Kenpom, which ranked Michigan 16th when the season suddenly came to a close.

Michigan basketball had gone to the last three Sweet 16’s and it seemed totally reasonable to expect this team to make a run at doing that again. When all the pieces are there and healthy, I have no doubt this a top-15 or 20 team in the country and come tournament time, it would have been fun to see what could have happened.
