If you’re a newcomer to Michigan football: Chris Evans, the running back, is not the same as Chris Evans, the actor that plays Captain America. And if you ever want to find the RB on google, search Chris Evans Michigan. Otherwise, you’ll have to scroll through a few pages (5 last time I checked) to get any information on the fifth-year senior.

To those who’ve been a fan of the game since at least 2016, you know Evans is a muscular version of the guys from the hip-hop duo Kid ‘n Play. Chris’s signature raised flat top, that mimics Christopher Reid (Kid) ‘n Christopher Martin (Play), was always a wonderful sight to see when he was on the field back in 2018.  While Chris spent his entire three seasons as a backup to De’Veon Smith and later Karan Higdon, he was being groomed for the starting role. A role he would’ve walked into had it not been for a little mistake.

“He’s come back and he’s been highly motivated,” Jay Harbaugh told Jon Jansen on the In The Trenches podcast. “He’s been a leader; he’s been, by all accounts, really impressive in the workouts and been on top of his business.”

Throughout his career, Evans accounted for a combined 1,722 yards and 14 touchdowns in the maize and blue uniform. Even with his impressive history, Chris is starting at square one. He may have experience in a Michigan offense, but it’s not in this Michigan offense.
