Michigan Football trending with Notre Dame decommit Greg Crippin
One of the top offensive guards in the 2021 class de-committed from Notre Dame this week and Michigan football is ready to pounce on Greg Crippin.
When it comes to Michigan football and the 2021 recruiting class, once again, the Wolverines find themselves recruiting quite a bit against Notre Dame.
Just like with Ohio State, Penn State and the other big dogs in the Midwest, it’s pretty common for Michigan football and Notre Dame to be after some of the same targets and one that was recently committed to the Irish, Greg Crippin, now looks like he could become a Wolverine.
Crippin who had been committed to Notre Dame took to Twitter last night to announce that was no longer the case. It’s probably not a coincidence that on the same exact day, Sam Webb, a top Michigan football expert for 247 sports, put in a crystal ball for the Wolverines.
That’s significant because Webb is usually very conservative with his crystal ball selections. His all-time accuracy with predictions is over 91 percent for a season, so when you see a Michigan crystal ball appear suddenly for Crippin and from Webb especially, it’s important.
The 6-foot-4, 285-pound offensive line is ranked as the No. 11 guard in the 2021 class and is listed by the 247 sports composite rankings as the 221st overall as well as the No. 29 prospect in the state of Florida.
Like former Michigan football center Cesar Ruiz, Crippin plays at the IMG Academy in Florida and as one of the better offensive lineman in 2021, he has some big-time offers as Alabama, Ohio State and Penn State are some of the other schools interested at one time.
It’s very early in the process after Crippin informed Notre Dame of his decision, but after he committed to the Irish last May, you would think he would have an idea of where he wants to go. Most kids do and it seems like there is a strong chance that Crippin joins Michigan’s 2021 class
