Michigan Basketball: 3 Predictions for Wolverines against Wisconsin
Who wins?
This is a really hard game to predict. Wisconsin is the kind of team that can beat anyone, anywhere, just because of their style of basketball. If they are shooting the ball well, milking the clock and winning the turnovers battle, they can win the game.
The issue for Wisconsin is that Michigan basketball has been lights out at home, especially with Livers in the lineup. Since his return, the offense has taken its play to an entirely new level and the screen-and-roll with Zavier Simpson is really impossible to guard when he’s surrounded by shooters like Wagner, Livers and a big man like Teske who can finish or shoot, not to mention Brandon Johns, who has become a marksmen from the corner.
If this game was at Wisconsin, then I’d give the Badgers a better chance of winning it. But with the way Simpson has been playing, I’d expect him to control the game and make sure that the Wolverines get the turnover edge against Wisconsin, which isn’t easy to do.
The defense will force Wisconsin into more tough 2-point shots than the Badgers want, while at the other end, Simpson and the Wolverines will get enough open looks to win the game.
Final score: Michigan 68, Wisconsin 63
