Winning at the 3-point line will mean winning the game

Something has to give as Wisconsin’s 3-point offense is among the best in the Big Ten, while no team in the league is probably better at defending the arc than Michigan basketball.

Wisconsin shoots more 3-pointers than any team in the conference. The Badgers lead the Big Ten in 3-point makes and have the third-best shooting percentage from deep. On the other side, the Wolverines have allowed the fewest makes from deep, the fewest shot attempts from 3-point range and also are holding teams to just 30.9 percent, which is third.

Basically, the Wolverines have adopted a strategy all season long that is designed to limit opposing 3-point attempts and it’s worked. It led to some struggles with interior defense earlier in the year which have been solved, in part by the emergence inside of Brandon Johns and Austin Davis.

Wisconsin is great at getting open looks, especially off of offensive rebounds and you can expect them to make some treys, but Michigan is a great 3-point shooting team too and when it’s all said and done, the team with the edge there, will likely come away victorious.
