Simpson didn’t score but he still owned the game

You don’t usually see a guy go 0-for-10 from the field and control the game, but that’s what Zavier Simpson did against Purdue Saturday.

The Boilermakers were one of the better teams at forcing turnovers in Big Ten play, yet they couldn’t apply any pressure on Simpson and the Wolverines. Zavier finished with just one turnover, while Michigan basketball as a team had just three.

Simpson wound up scoring just four points, however, he also grabbed seven rebounds and six assists You just felt like he owned the game, he was dishing the ball out to 3-point shooters like Franz Wagner and it was just a classic Simpson performance.

When guys like Livers, Wagner, DeJulius and Jon Teske are knocking down shots, Simpson doesn’t have to score and that’s when the Wolverines were at their best, which was on full display Saturday at Mackey Arena.
