Michigan will get open 3’s, it just has to make em

Michigan basketball has struggled shooting the ball on the road at times this season and that can’t be the case if the Wolverines want to win Wednesday night.

They don’t have to come out blazing and score 80-90 points, however, the Wolverines are going to be given 3-point looks by Rutgers and they simply have to knock down a good chunk of them.

Rutgers is 10th in the Big Ten when it comes to 3-point attempts and 3-point makes by opponents, yet ranks fourth in percentage allowed. So Rutgers will give up those shots but is pretty good at defending them.

The Scarlet Knights defend the basket, don’t foul often and force teams to take tough shots. That’s not that different from what Howard and company want to do. The difference is that the Wolverines are loaded with shooters, especially since the return of Livers.

Livers, Brooks, Franz Wagner, Johns, DeJulius, Teske and even Simpson, at times, can shoot the long ball. No doubt this game will be a battle, but if the Wolverines can hit 8-9 3-pointers, they should find a way to win.
