Michigan Basketball: 3 things we learned in Wolverines win over Indiana
Michigan basketball dominated Indiana Sunday at home, getting to 7-7 in the Big Ten. Here are three things we learned from the Wolverines win.
Since the return of Isaiah Livers and even before that, the Michigan basketball team has been on a roll. It started with a defensive resurgence and continued with a dominant effort Sunday against Indiana.
Michigan basketball was exceptional on both ends of the floor and scored 41 points in the first half, followed by 48 in the second as the Wolverines defeated the Hoosiers easily, 89-65. It was also the seventh straight game that has seen U-M hold an opponent under 70 points.
The Wolverines shot lights out in the game, making 57 percent from the field. An even crazier stat is that all but two players that attempted at least three shots, made 50 percent or more.
In the grand scheme of things, it was another momentum-building win for the Wolverines, who are now 7-7 in the Big Ten conference and in a much better position now for the NCAA tournament.
In fact, looking around the Big Ten, I can’t say there is a team that’s playing better than Michigan basketball right now. Obviously, there was another injury scare with Livers. Hopefully, it’s minor but apparently he was in a walking boot, which could just be a precaution.
Certainly, with everything clicking, it would be a killer to lose Livers again. But until we know more, let’s focus on Indiana and what we learned from that 24-point beatdown.
