Power forward

Starter: Greg Brown

Backups: Brandon Johns Jr., Austin Davis

As noted earlier, Greg Brown Sr. was impressed by his recent visit to Ann Arbor with his son, who’s ranked ninth overall. Here’s what he had to say to the Michigan Insider about it ($):

"We met with him (Sunday) before we left, and we met with two brothers that are with the academic staff (Brian Townsend and Maurice Washington). The reason why I liked them so much is because they’re in charge of the athletic career center. What impressed me so much about those guys was the questions that they asked Greg. They’re like, ‘we know you play basketball, but basketball shouldn’t define you as a person. Who are you as a person outside of basketball?’"

Currently, Greg Brown Jr. has crystal balls that have him committing to Texas or Kentucky, which could be taken as a bad sign. Then again, Christopher’s predictions had him staying California and becoming a Bruin just weeks ago. With that said, Brown would be the unquestioned favorite to lead the Wolverines at PF.

Brandon Johns Jr will backup Greg during his junior year until the one-and-done Brown declares for the draft around this time next year. Brandon – like his teammates -struggled mightily when Livers was out of the lineup and has since become a key piece to Juwan’s offense – scoring a career-high 20 points on Rutgers at MSG earlier this month.

Austin Davis has emerged from thin air to become arguably the best center on the team, at least for the moment. Jon Teske’s offensive drought is in full force, and Davis has been the spark in the low post.
