Simpson/Winston fight to a draw

The last two weeks haven’t been all that great for Zavier Simpson. First, he watched a game-winning shot get made over him against Illinois, then he was suspended and apparently involved in a car wreck, as well as some other questionable things, like misleading the police about the accident.

At any rate, Simpson served his suspension and came back with a classic Simpson game against Rutgers last Saturday. He wasn’t shooting too much and his teammates were hitting shots. When that’s not happening, too much falls on Simpson and he’s just not talented enough as a scorer to carry a team offensively.

When teams make Simpson try to do that, they usually win and that’s why he needs to avoid that Saturday, which I think he will.

Simpson has Cassius Winston‘s number back in 2018, but that has since reversed course. Simpson has outplayed Simpson in their last four meetings, however, this time, despite all the distractions, I think Simpson delivers a classic performance and at least earns a 50/50 draw.
