Michigan Basketball: Breaking down mixed results of sophomore class
By Ryan Kraus
Brandon Johns Jr.
Brandon Johns has started to blossom into the player that everyone thought he would be when he stepped foot on campus. He has gotten the opportunity to start, with the injury to Livers and he has seized the opportunity.
In the eight games that he has started, he is averaging 10.3 ppg. He has elevated his game when the team has needed it during Livers absence.
Johns Jr is a high energy guy and that was on display for Michigan basketball recently. Johns played his most complete games yet as a Wolverine. He set a new career-high with 16 points in the Nebraska game. He then followed that up with another career-high of 20 points against the Rutgers at Madison Square Garden this past Saturday.
When Livers comes back from his injury, it is going to be interesting to see how Johns plays for the rest of the season. Howard will have to find him minutes with the way that he has played.
