Big win at the Garden

The faithful for the Scarlet Knights turned out in full force to fill the Garden loudly and proudly. They almost made it feel like a true rod game for the Wolverines. Michigan wasn’t bothered though as it answered the bell with successful trips on the offensive end of the court. Howard’s guys have now put together back to back decisive victories with just a month left in the season.

The maize and blue used its height advantage for the second time this week. Austin Davis was impactful off the bench. He shot a perfect 100%, albeit his buckets were right around the rim. Jon Teske also got into the fray, along with Franz Wagner going 3-3 from deep, but the day truly belonged to Brandon Johns. His efforts are some of the reasons why Michigan basketball didn’t miss Livers that much in two crucial contests this week.

Rivalry week heats up in a few days with the Buckeyes coming to Crisler on Tuesday, then the Spartans visiting on Sunday. To say that Michigan has to keep this momentum rolling in these two is blatantly obvious.

The Buckeyes stroll in with two wins in a row as well and dreams of March madness directly in their eyes. They, of course, will be without D.J. Carton, but still will be a dangerous opponent in a can’t lose matchup for either squad. Michigan basketball, on the other hand, will hope to be at full strength with a healthy Livers back on the court.
