Michigan Basketball: 3 Highly-rated prospects with interest in Wolverines
Greg Brown
As the second-largest state in America, Texas provides an overabundance of options for high school stars to pursue the athletics at the collegiate level, but none of them supply the grandeur found at the University of Texas at Austin.
Hook ’em horns, the Red River Showdown, and defensive specialist – and former Michigan coach -Luke Yaklich all can be big draws for top athletes like the next one on this list. That man is Greg Brown III, and he’s the 8th ranked basketball player for the 2020 class. Not 8th at his position, 8th overall.
Scouting and analysis
At 6-foot-8 and just 205 pounds, Brown has a frame to fill. His lack of size hasn’t slowed him down, however, and Greg is being pursued feverishly by every coach that hopes to compete in the tournament in 2021. His soul-crushing dunks and explosive blocks will send even the best athletes crying home to their mommy, and while he’s currently a UT lock, Juwan has only recently entered the picture.
Brown is reportedly taking a visit to Ann Arbor in February, which should give fans hope for a future Michigan basketball crew that includes Brown. Per his father, Greg Brown II, they’re taking the visit very seriously; it’s not just a free vacation for him and his son.
“It’s funny that coaches and people ask those questions,” Greg Brown II told UM Hoops. “If we weren’t serious about going, if we weren’t serious about a place, I’m not wasting my time. My time is precious. And I have two young kids and a wife; you know what I’m saying?
