Michigan football ended its season with two straight losses for the fourth year in a row. Here’s what we learned after the Wolverines 9-4 campaign.

The 2019 Michigan football season came to an end this week, with another disappointing loss bowl loss, the fourth straight for the Wolverines.

It was also the fourth consecutive year that Michigan football lost consecutive games to end the season, a trend that absolutely needs to be corrected soon.

Following most games, I’ll breakdown five things that I can think we learned. Well, the Alabama game was such a microcosm of the season, it seemed like a better idea to just look back at the 2019 season as a whole.

As much as people say bowl games don’t matter, they definitely impact the perception of a program and you can bet Michigan and Indiana are a lot grumpier going into the offseason than Alabama and Tennessee. U-M and IU also wish they had that momentum too.

But it wasn’t meant to be. The Wolverines put forth a valiant effort against the Crimson Tide but ultimately, fell to 2-4 against top-15 teams this season. And while it’s fair to point out that six of Michigan football’s 13 opponents were ranked in the top 15, since three of the Wolverines four losses came by 19 points or more, it’s a hard argument to make.

Michigan football underachieved this season, simple as that and here are the five biggest lessons we learned from another year filled with disappointment and letdowns.
