Michigan Football: 3 takeaways from another miserable bowl loss
By Nick Popio
What Now For Michigan
Another unsuccessful season is in the books. It is clear that Jim Harbaugh and his current regime cannot ascend Michigan football to a championship level. Five years with very little to show for is not the standard for a school or fans that live for more.
Warde Manuel will have to give serious consideration at where this program is going and where he wants it to be. Sitting on your hands and doing nothing is simply unacceptable. Changes have to be made in some way.
For the present time being, Michigan will turn to the recruiting trail to add a few more to their 2020 class. Darion Green-Warren is anticipated to commit this Saturday at the Army All American bowl barring any unforeseen last-minute changes. James Pogorelc could come aboard, but recent crystal balls have had him picking Stanford over Michigan.
After those two make up their minds, the Wolverines will look into the transfer portal to see if they can pouch some guys who can make an instant impact.
Coaching changes are also inevitable during the offseason. Chris Partridge and Anthony Campanile are two names on the block right now that will be courted by other schools. Releasing Don Brown of his duties is something that should have happened a year ago, but did not.
If Brown parts ways with Michigan, then expect Partridge and Campanile to get promotions should they stick around. No matter what happens over the next eight months of the offseason, Michigan must get things right.
