For 30 minutes Michigan football had people believing that 2020 was going to be different until the Tide clamped down and put U-M out of its misery.

From Alabama’s first snap things fell right into place for an Alabama blowout. Jerry Jeudy showcased to the world why he is a top ten draft pick in the upcoming draft. Don Brown stubbornly left Dax Hill in one on one coverage with him and didn’t make that mistake a second time. After that, the Michigan football team responded in a big way and seemed to find a chink in the chain of the Tide they could exploit.

Michigan was running the ball at will the rest of the half thanks to a dominating offensive line performance. Zach Charbonnet was finding holes and looked very spry doing so.  At one point the Wolverines scored 13 unanswered and took the lead into halftime with Quinn Nordin‘s 57-yard bomb. Momentum was clearly favoring the maize and blue to be a special day while opening up the new year.

Unfortunately, it was not long-lived. Alabama strolled down the field in 1:30 and regained the lead for good. Michigan football’s secondary surrendered to arguably the best receiving core in the nation. Jeudy stole the show with over 200 yards on an average of 34 yards per catch. It set up Mac Jones for a three-touchdown day and nearly 500 yards of total offense against an overmatched top ten defense.
