Holiday Bowl could offer hope a fun matchup

Outside of getting into the Capital One Bowl, it seems like one of the other like destinations for Michigan would be the Holiday Bowl, where the Wolverines would battle a Pac-12 opponent.

That Big Ten vs Pac-12 is always interesting. That conference and the SEC are the bowl games that seem to have the most excitement from a Big Ten perspective outside the playoff and the Rose Bowl.

And the Holiday Bowl is the place Michigan fans should hope for if the Wolverines don’t get into the Capital One Bowl. It sounds like the opponent could be USC or Washington.

Obviously, with a non-conference date set against the Huskies next fall, that isn’t ideal, but it’s still a chance to end 2019 with a solid win. Playing the Trojans would also be fun. USC is ranked in the top 25 and finished the season strong, as Michigan did before losing to Ohio State.

Two proud programs with a long history of meeting in the Rose Bowl would make for a fun contest and winning the game would also give the Wolverines a meaningful 10th victory.
