Michigan has to take better care of the ball

The turnover issue canā€™t just be laid at the feet of Simpson, but he did make some mistakes that arenā€™t excusable for someone as experienced as the senior.

For whatever reason, maybe the increased pace or guys trying to find their way under a new coach, turnovers or a lack of them havenā€™t transferred over from the John Beilein era.

Through five games, Michigan has 72 turnovers, including 22 against Iowa State. Thatā€™s about 15 turnovers per game and itā€™s just way too many. Part of it can be attributed to a lack of depth in the backcourt and thatā€™s a valid point.

Eli Brooks has played a lot in the past, however, he has two poor turnovers in the last couple of minutes. DeJulius is also new, along with Johns, Castleton, Nunez and Wagner, even though he has played at the pro level in Germany.

Michigan basically has Teske, Livers and Simpson as core players from last season and turnovers might just be part of some growing pains.
