Wagner will make an impact soon

Every Michigan basketball fan has been waiting patiently for the debut of Franz Wagner, who broke his wrist and missed the first four games of the season.

Well, after making his debut Wednesday in the Battle 4 Atlantis, we finally got our wish and while it wasn’t a memorable effort by any means, Wagner made a couple of 3’s, including his first college shot attempt and proved he will be a key part of the offense.

The Wolverines were shooting 39 percent from 3-point range even before Wagner came on board but that should improve. His addition makes the lineup feel complete, with a slew of good options like DeJulius, Colin Castleton, Brandon Johns and Adrien Nunez off the bench.

Franz scored just six points and made two treys in the win, yet he defended pretty well and showed he’s ready to play heavy minutes. Once he gets his legs back under him and gets rid of the rust, he’s going to be a good player and will likely score in double figures.

With Teske, Livers, Simpson, Brooks, DeJulius, Castleton and now Wagner, this offense is going to be much better than expected under Juwan Howard.
